Route 6 In Farmington Reopened After Serious Crash: UPDATE
Farmington police report multiple people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local police are investigating a serious, two-car accident on a rain-slicked Route 6 Friday afternoon, one which caused serious injuries.
According to the Farmington Police Department, the crash happened in the area of Birdseye Road and sent patients to the hospital.
The FPD said the North Central Regional Accident Reconstruction Squad was on scene investigating the collision.

As a result of the crash, Route 6 eastbound was closed at Birdseye Road with traffic detoured down Fienemann Road or Birdseye Road.
Meanwhile, Route 6 westbound was closed at Wolfpit Road.

In addition, Interstate 84's Exit 38 was detoured to South Road and then Birdseye Road.
According to the state Department of Transportation, it was reported first at 1:20 p.m.
Farmington police said later in the evening that Route 6 reopened at about 4:45 p.m.
Witnesses of the collision are asked to contact the Farmington Police Department at 860-675-2400 to speak to FPD Officer Jeffrey Murphy.
