That's The 'Ticket'! Golden Retriever Named Farmington's Top Dog

FARMINGTON, CT — A golden retriever named "Ticket" has been named Farmington's Top Dog of 2026, the Town of Farmington announced this week.

Ticket, who turns 4 on Thursday, was selected for the annual honor and was recognized by town officials in a social media post.

The Graves family named Ticket after Willy Wonka and the famous "golden ticket" in the movie, according to the town.

He enjoys swimming, playing with his canine siblings, Bauer and Maise, and spending time with his human siblings, Kinsley and Sarah.

His owners, Linda and Judson Graves, described Ticket as "the most loving and snuggly dog they've ever had."

The town congratulated Ticket on earning the title of Farmington's Top Dog for 2026.

The announcement also served as a reminder that Connecticut law requires dogs to be licensed annually during the month of June.

Town officials said residents who have not yet renewed their dog's license should do so through the Farmington Town Clerk's Office as soon as possible.

A $1 monthly late fee began accruing July 1 for overdue licenses.
