Wadsworth Announces Bid for Re-election
Farmington representative seeks second term in 21st House District.
State Rep. Bill Wadsworth, R-Farmington, has announced that he will seek re-election to the State House of Representatives. The Farmington Republican Caucus unanimously endorsed Wadsworth as their candidate at their May 22 meeting.
“It has been an honor to represent the 21st District in Hartford," said Wadsworth. “My record as a State Representative follows the commitment I had as a member of the Farmington Town Council for 11 years, and I am proud to say I have a 100% voting record on the floor of the Connecticut House of Representatives. I have been fully committed to my responsibilities as representative and as a member of the Appropriations, Transportation and Human Services Committees.”
“The Town of Farmington has done very well over the past two years starting with the investment in the Uconn Health Center of over 1 billion dollars in infrastructure that will drive our local economy by the downstream effect of housing, local businesses and retail. Other legislation that directly benefited Farmington was open space protection, a revaluation implementation option and an increase in grants from previous years. During the past 2 years it has been reinforced to me that the top 2 priorities of the State of Connecticut should be high quality education and the growth of private sector jobs. I am seeking reelection to continue to work towards these goals” he added.

Citing the dedication he has shown to successfully addressing constituent concerns Wadsworth said “I have been accessible through many different avenues and have an absolute commitment to serving all the constituents of this district, and of preserving and strengthening educational opportunities, the economy, the environment and the culture of this community that my family has called home since its founding.”
“Bill has the best interests of Farmington at heart. He’s the consummate public servant who has contributed to Farmington’s greatness. Bill spent 11 years on the Town Council, participated in countless building committees and was a big impetus behind the town’s open space campaigns. Recently, Bill was a major force in the passage of reval deferral legislation for the town. I’m very pleased to support Bill’s re-election campaign” said Jeff Hogan, Town Council Chair.
