Varsity Basketball vs. Taft: L 52-62Recap: Despite a strong start from Porter’s, Porter’s falls to Taft 52-62. Porter’s had one of their best starts of the season and came ready to play at the sound of the whistle, building a 10-point lead. However, Taft took advantage of a 2-3 minute window when Porter’s was unable to score. Taft had taken the lead going into the locker room but Porter’s continued to battle in the second half.
Leading the team was Callie Godfrey ’20 with another double, double. Godfrey had 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 assist and 1 steal.

Also contributing were Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal), Evie Perez ’17 (10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist), Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 (9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assist, 2 blocks), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (2 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assist), Lila Conners ’20 (2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block), Emily Wogelius ’17 (1 rebound) and Sarah Zukowski ’19 who did a great job on the defensive end.
Porter’s shot 31% (22-71) from the field, pulled down 47 rebounds (23 offensive/24 defensive) and capitalized on second chance opportunities scoring 16 points.
Wednesday, February 22
Varsity Basketball vs. Williston Northampton: W 55-53
Recap: Porter’s honored their seniors Wednesday afternoon with a win over Williston (55-52). Porter’s did a great job on the boards scoring 23 points off of second-chance points and shot 36% (23-64) from the field. With the game going down to the wire Porter’s kept their composure and were able to send their seniors off on a high note.

Leading the team in scoring were Callie Godfrey ’20 and Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 with 12 a piece. Godfrey had another double, double and added 10 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block to her 12 points. While Nwachukwu added 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, 3 steals and 1 assist.
Also chipping in were Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (11 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assist, 3 steals), Evie Perez ’17 (6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals, 1 block), Emily Wogelius ’17 (2 points, 4 rebounds). Julia Teti ’19, Sarah Zukowski ’19, Maya Silva-Thompson ’17 and Julia Harrell ’17 contributed good minutes as well.
Porter’s dominated the boards out-rebounding Williston 52 (23 offensive/29 defensive) to 42. Porter’s improves to 17-8 and with one more regular season game left.
Varsity squash vs. Hotchkiss: L 0-7
Friday, February 25
Varsity Basketball vs. Loomis Chaffee: L 40-59
Recap: Porter’s traveled to Loomis on Friday night for their last regular season game. Porter’s came out strong taking the lead 14-10 but then went 8 minutes without scoring. Loomis headed into the locker room with a 17 point lead but Porter’s wasn’t ready to give up. Porter’s continued to battle but dug themselves too big of a hole in the first half to come back, falling to Loomis 40-59. Porter’s shot 30% (15-50) from the field and out rebounded Loomis 48-38.
Leading Porter’s was Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assist and 3 blocks.
Also contributing were Callie Godfrey ’20 (11 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal), Evie Perez ’17 (6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist), Emily Wogelius ’17 (4 points, 2 rebounds), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (4 points, 1 rebound, 1 block), Lila Conners ’20 (2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal), Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (1 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assist, 3 steals), and Sarah Zukowski (3 rebounds, 1 steal). Julia Harrell ’17 and Julia Teti ’17 contributed good minutes as well.
Porter’s completed the regular season with a record of 17-9 and will travel to Berkshire on Wednesday for the NEPSAC Quarterfinals.
Saturday, February 25
Varsity Squash @ New England Championships: 3rd Place
Recap: Porter's traveled to Pomfret School for New England Championships Friday and Saturday. Sam Houle '17 ended up winning the no. 1 flight while Claire Ji '19 and Riti Sharma '17 both made it to the finals of their respective flights, and finished as runners-up. Maddy Schwartz '17, Gaelen Caroll 18 and Roanna Zou '19 finished 5th in their respective flights, and Talia Welker '19 finished 6th. The team finished 3rd overall in the C division at New England's.
