Recap: From the first pitch to the last this game was filled with excitement! Jenna Hall '20 attacked hard as the lead-off batter hitting a single and advancing to third, that was as close as she would get to home that inning as the next 3 batters were retired in order. K-O also came out swinging and managed to get two runs over the plate in the first inning.

The second inning was quiet on both sides, it was the third that put Porter's on the board. Hall starting things rolling once again with a close eye to draw a walk, she was scored when Gaelen Carroll '18 put the ball into play and K-O made a throwing error. Carroll advanced to 2nd on the errant throw and then to third when the pitcher threw a wild pitch when K-O intentionally walked Hannah Zukowski '17. Carroll scored when Maya Silva-Thompson '17 hit a single. With the score tied, Jessica Sardilli '19 reached first on an error which also allowed Silva Thompson to score putting Porter's in the lead 3 - 2. The lead was short-lived as K-O managed to get two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Charlotte Whalen '20 led the top of the 4th inning with a triple and then scored when Juliana Diamantis '20 put the ball into play allowing Whalen to score....TIE GAME! Both defenses played strong while on each team the offense tried to piece together a run, to no avail, the regular inning game ended in a 4 - 4 tie.

Top of the 8th inning Porter's got a runner on base right away but were unable to cross the plate with a run. K-O got a lucky break getting their lead-off batter on base when a ball hit back to the Sardilli got misdirected from hitting off of her foot. With a runner on first Porter's defense retired the next two batters in order with the runner advancing to second base. K-O's next batter hit a solid line drive up the middle to allow the runner to score and to end the game.

It was a well-fought game on both sides. The Porter's defense was solid led by the battery of Sardilli and Zukowski and backed by great plays by De'Jah Jennings '17 at third and Hall at short. Silva Thompson was busy at first receiving balls from her infielders while Natalie Brennan '20 had a great catch in right field to take away an extra-base hit from K-O.
