10 Turtles Rescued From Glastonbury House Fire On Christmas Day

GLASTONBURY, CT — Ten pet turtles were rescued from a home in Glastonbury during a Christmas Day fire, authorities said.

Two people were also displaced, according to the American Red Cross.

The fire broke out at a Lancaster Road home at 3:42 p.m. on Christmas Day, fire officials said. The fire was extinguished relatively quickly and no one was home at the time, fire officials said. At least one room seemed to be wrecked by the flames, fire officials said.

The 10 pet turtles were removed from the home and turned over to Glastonbury Animal Control for care, fire officials said.
