2 Caught in Glastonbury Drug Stings

A police drug task force made two busts in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The East Central Narcotics Task Force arrested two in drug stings conducted last week.

One arrest was the result of a buy-bust operation in Glastonbury, according to a news release.

Task Force members received Information that a man who goes by the street name of “J” was selling crack cocaine and heroin in Glastonbury.

“J” was identified as Martin Parrilla who twice sold fentanyl to an undercover officer, according to a news release.

Parrilla, 28, also had heroin, police said.

He was charged with three counts of heroin possession, two counts of cocaine possession, one count of fentanyl possession, three counts of narcotics sale and narcotics possession with the intent to sell.

On March 15, the task force raided a home at 536 Naubuc Avenue in Glastonbury. Task Force members had received information that the resident, Leonard Barker was selling cocaine from within a barn located on the property, according to a news release.

During the search, Barker was found inside a room in the barn, police said. He was hiding after seeing police enter the property on a surveillance system.

The task force had an active arrest warrant for the 52-year-old Barker.

He was charged in the raid with:

  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession with the intent to sell
  • Interfering with a Search Warrant.

He was charged on the warrant with;

  • The sale of cocaine

His bonds totaled $175,000, police said,

Task force members seized just less than an ounce of cocaine along with drug paraphernalia and an
undisclosed amount of cash from Barker’s residence as a result of the search. The Manchester Police Department Canine Unit assisted with the search warrant execution.
