The department said DUI enforcement involves more than making arrests, emphasizing the importance of recognizing signs of impairment and taking action before an impaired driver causes a crash.

Police officials said the work by Pagliughi and Maldonado demonstrates the department's focus on proactive enforcement and preventing impaired drivers from posing a threat to other motorists.

The department congratulated both officers on the recognition and said their work reflects the importance of DUI enforcement in protecting motorists and families traveling through the community.
