Another Weekend -- And More Lane Closures on the Putnam Bridge
If you're heading to Glastonbury this weekend, you'll need to take detours.

The weekend summer driving saga in Glastonbury and Wethersfield continues on the Putnam Bridge as the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s milling and paving project will force a full northbound directional closure.
The full closure begins at 8 p.m. Friday night and continues until 5 a.m. Monday, July 27.
According to their schedule this should be the second-to-last weekend for closures on The William H. Putnam Bridge (Route 3 over the Connecticut River).

With the northbound closure (Wethersfield heading to Glastonbury), motorists will be directed to Route 2 via I-91 Northbound to the Charter Oak Bridge (Route 5 and Route 15 Northbound.

This scheduled closure as well as the additional directional closures listed below are required for the final milling and paving of the bridge as part of the ongoing $35 million bridge rehabilitation project.
The planned schedule of directional closures may change based on weather or unforeseen circumstances:
- 7/24/15 – 7/27/15 northbound closure (Wethersfield heading to Glastonbury)
- 7/31/15 – 8/03/15 southbound closure (Glastonbury heading to Wethersfield)
Signs and police officers will be stationed at key intersections to guide motorists.
