Arrests Made for Series of Thefts in Glastonbury

A couple has been implicated in a series of thefts over several months in Glastonbury, police said.

GLASTONBURY CT — A couple was arrested on Wednesday for a series of residential burglaries, vehicle thefts and firearms thefts, Glastonbury police said.

Melissa Hafey, 29 and Daniel Taylor, 33, of Hartford, were charged with:

  • First-degree burglary
  • Third-degree burglary
  • First-degree larceny
  • Second-degree larceny
  • Third-degree larceny
  • Fifth-degree larceny
  • Possession of burglar tools
  • Theft of a firearm (2 counts)
  • Third-degree criminal mischief
  • Third-degree burglary (2 counts, Taylor only)
  • Criminal attempt at third-degree burglary

Their arrests mark the conclusion of a multi-state and multi-agency investigation involving several agencies, police said.

The thefts took place over several months, police said.

They were held on $750,000 bonds and were to appear in court Wednesday, police said.
