Why You Don't Love Your Teen
It's important to understand your teens love language which can help communication between the parent and teen.
Speak your teenagers love language. It is another way to help your teen son be open with you because it helps the parent understand what makes him feel loved. If your son takes the love language survey, you will find out what his love language is.
Every teenager has their own distinct personality and it is important for parents to understand how to react to them when they might have a meltdown, feel discouraged, or just want to feel loved. Knowing their love language will help parents respond to the situation.
The book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman explains that each person receives the message of love through one of five love languages which are, “words of affirmation”, “quality time”, “receiving gifts”, “acts of service”, or “physical touch”. The key is trying to find out the love language for your teen son and then communicating your love to them in their language.
