Censorship Didn't Stop This Glastonbury Student Artist

An appeal leads to display of Glastonbury student's display of artwork.

A Glastonbury High School senior is happy that the school administration has reversed its decision to ban her artwork about body shaming out of the school’s art show.

Senior Emily Mann told The Courant she was devastated when she was told her work would’t be exhibited at Glastonbury High School. But after appealing the decision, school Superintendent Alan Bookman overturned the principal’s decision and added the piece to the exhibit on Wednesday, according to Fox Connecticut, quoting The Courant.

The questionable artwork involves a painting of a naked woman with strategically placed red boxes containing words such as “pornographic” and “sinful,” according to The Courant.
