  • Katrina Cubanski of Glastonbury was recently named to the highly selective Dean's List at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2018-19 academic year. Cubanski, a member of the Class of 2022, attended Glastonbury High School and is the daughter of James and Laura Cubanski. She earned a semester grade point average of 3.78 or higher this spring to be included on Colby's Dean's List.

Goodwin College, East Hartford CT

  • Goodwin College announces that 992 students achieved Dean's List status for the spring 2019 session. Glastonbury residents making the list are Kathleen Crowell, Alexandra Esposito, Maureen Flynn, Tanisha Funnye, Lauren Gilbert, Jason Goldstein, Chloe Hansen, Parul Makadia, Anca O'Brien, Jonathan Palochko, Nathan Panico, Sarah Shannon, Kimberly Weintraub and Cherell Crooms.

  • At the undergraduate commencement on May 19, 695 bachelor's degrees were awarded. Including the degrees awarded at the graduate ceremony on May 18, a total of 1,265 degrees were awarded over the two days. At the graduate commencement, 522 master's degrees, one certificate of advanced graduate study, five Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 36 Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees, and six Doctor of Psychology degrees were awarded. Graduates from Glastonbury were Erica DellaVolpe, master's of education degree in Physical Education, and Jacqueline Perron , master's of social work degree in Social Work.
  • Springfield College has named the following students from Glastonbury to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the 2019 spring semester. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester. Honorees from Glastonbury and their majors are Anelia Maciolek, Accounting; Frederick Clark, Finance; Grace Moore, Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy; Brianna Crucitti, Health Science/Occupational Therapy; Isaiah Pantojas, Health Science/Pre-physician Assistant; Rielly Malz , Health Science/Pre-physician Assistant; and Anthony Williams, Human Services.

State University of New York, Oswego NY

  • Lucas J. Grove of Glastonbury completed a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy-psychology in spring 2019 at SUNY Oswego. Commencement, with faculty in full academic regalia, took place in May.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • The WPI athletic department recently honored all of its 20 varsity teams which encompasses nearly 600 student-athletes, including baseball playere Joshua Herlands of Glastonbury, at its annual awards banquet. During the festivities, 11 student-athletes were presented with major awards. Herlands received the Ray Cherenzia '73 Unsung Hero Award, presented to a member of each varsity team that exemplifies the spirit of an "Unsung Hero" - who works hard every day, puts the team first over their personal goals, who does the little things without much recognition, yet are vital to their team's success in competition, in the classroom and in the community. The award recipients must represent their program and the university in a respected and dignified manner.
