Connecticut River Flood Warning Issued
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Connecticut River.

GLASTONBURY, — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Connecticut River.
Rains from the past week have caused the Connecticut River to rise near, or above, flood levels, the weather service said .
Officials at the state ferry dock in Glastonbury said the level is more than 5 feet above normal and the ferry has yet to begin service this season because of treacherous conditions.

The river level is expected to continue to rise over the next few days and minor flooding is anticipated, according to the weather service.
Residents and visitors should be extremely cautious and children should not be allowed to play near swollen rivers, streams, or culverts, according to an advisory issued by Glastonbury officials.

"Swift moving water can pose an imminent threat to life therefore we urge you to practice caution and keep children away from the riverfront until the water level has lowered back to normal," the advisory stated.
