Work set to begin at Blackledge Falls Park.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Construction activity within Blackledge Falls Park is set to begin soon, town officials said.
The park is located off of Hebron Avenue along the Glastonbury/Hebron Town line.
Work will generally consist of removing the existing dam structure and re-establishing the Blackledge River stream channel, officials said.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is supporting the initiative as a means of restoring more than 2 miles of habitat for multiple anadromous fish species, and the DEEP has issued all permits required to conduct the work.
During construction, the trails leading to and around the existing impoundment will be closed to public access and will be signed accordingly, officials said.
