East Catholic Students from Glastonbury Receive Art Awards
The awards were part of the 26th-annual High School Donate Life Connecticut contest.

MANCHESTER, CT –Two East Catholic High School students were named as visual art contest winners in the 26th-annual High School Donate Life Connecticut contest.
Junior Olivia Varga was named as a Tony Award winner for her poster of an organ and choir encouraging organ donation. In addition, junior Ryan Luca received an honorable mention award for his drawing of a heart wearing a cape as a super hero.
Donate Life Connecticut is dedicated to increasing the number of registered organ and tissue donors through public education and awareness for all Connecticut residents.

The students received their awards on April 1 with members of Donate Life Connecticut at the state capitol building in Hartford.
Olivia Varga is a member of the East Catholic volleyball team and is also an avid equestrian athlete. She volunteers her time as a camp counselor at a therapeutic riding center for children and adults with special needs. Olivia resides in South Glastonbury with her family.

Ryan Luca is a member of the East Catholic ski club. In addition, he participates on a travel soccer team and plays basketball with the Glastonbury Basketball Association. Ryan He also volunteers his time at the Veteran’s Home and Hospital in Rocky Hill and at Glastonbury Health Center. Ryan resides in Glastonbury with his family.
