FREE Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's on Tuesday, April 14th
Fun, Fans and Favorite Flavors are the Focus for 2015

Glastonbury, CT April 7, 2015 – Ben & Jerry’s started as a small town, neighborhood ice cream shop in Burlington, Vermont and although it has expanded, the local scoop shops across the country aim to keep hometown feeling at the heart of their business. What’s another tried and true tradition the scoop shops keep celebrating?
Free Cone Day, of course! On Tuesday, April 14 from 12pm to 8pm you can help celebrate their annual thank you to fans at 41 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury, CT 06033 for Ben & Jerry’s 36th Free Cone Day.
Why did a company decide that giving away their product was the right thing to do? Ben & Jerry’s struggled like almost every business when it first began. Although there were the day-to-day challenges of running a new company, there was a clear understanding of how vital the community’s role is in any successful business. And so, just as a thank you, Ben & Jerry’s celebrated its first full year in business in 1979 by scooping free cones.

Along with serving up free ice cream, scoop shops continue to give back to the towns they call home by partnering with local non-profit organizations to help raise awareness and to increase support for worthy causes. In 2015, the Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop in Glastonbury, CT has partnered with Town Youth Sports Organizations, Glastonbury Hartwell Soccer along with Glastonbury Lacrosse and Glastonbury Baseball Leagues to fundraise for the “Friends of Football” lighting effort. Join in the Free Cone Day celebrations and support a great cause.
“Free Cone Day feels a little bit like our birthday party and the best day of the year for us at Ben & Jerry’s,” said Phil Killoran, Owner. “Putting a smile on someone’s face and helping spread the word of a worthwhile community organization is what makes Ben & Jerry’s truly special.”
