Glastonbury 2016 Memorial Day Parade Scheduled for Monday

GLASTONBURY, CT - The town's annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday.

The Veteran Service Commission is hosting the event.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Main Street and Welles, continue down Hubbard, and conclude with a 45-minute service at the Civil War Memorial on the Town Green.

This parade is open to the public and is intended to be "a solemn event ... to honor all who gave their lives in service of this country," the committee said in a statement.

Main Street will be blocked off from roughly 9 to 10 a.m. for the parade, officials said.
