Road closures will be in place during the night time work hours.
August 18, 2020
Beginning this weekend, a multi-phase roadwork project will commence on Glastonbury Boulevard that will continue over the next week or two. On Sunday, August 23, work will begin with asphalt milling during the overnight hours of 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM and will continue on the same schedule for approximately 4-5 nights thereafter. This milling work will be done in 2 phases as outlined below. During each phase, normal traffic patterns will be allowed during the daytime hours, and road closures will be in place during the night time work hours (9pm to 6am) as follows:

- Phase 1 - EASTBOUND lanes will be CLOSED to all traffic, while the westbound lanes will be open to accommodate two-way traffic.
- Phase 2 - WESTBOUND lanes will be CLOSED while the eastbound lanes will be open for two-way traffic.
- No detours will be in place during Phases 1 and 2 as each side of Glastonbury Boulevard has multiple lanes available for bi-directional traffic.
Following completion of milling work, paving operations will commence on Sunday 8/30. The paving phase will follow the same construction staging and work schedule as noted above (9:00 PM to 6:00 AM), and is slated to continue for 4-5 days ending on, or around, September 1 or 2.
Throughout this project, the Route 3 off-ramp will remain OPEN, as will all businesses located on Glastonbury Boulevard. Businesses which remain open past the 9:00 PM start time each night will still be accessible via gaps in the raised medians. Please heed all road closure signs and drive carefully through the work site. Thank you for your patience as we work to maintain the safety and quality of the Glastonbury roadways.
