Glastonbury Changes Hours of Transfer Station Operation
Plus, household hazardous waste collection, paper shredding days are scheduled.
If you’re starting your fall cleaning, here are some important dates to remember regarding disposal of your items.
Refuse Waste Disposal
This week, the extended Daylight Savings operating hours for the Transfer Station, 2340 New London Turnpike, were modified to 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of Daylight Savings Time. The extended hours will end on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Saturdays, Sept. 26 and Oct. 17:, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Regional Collection Station, 321 Olcott St., Manchester.
Bring a driver license, tax bill or car registration to prove residency.

An opportunity to safely dispose of oil and lead-based paint, stains, acids, automotive fluids, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, chemicals, household cleaning products, fluorescent light bulbs and other hazardous materials that may have accumulated around the house. Do not bring: latex paint, antifreeze, motor oil or alkaline batteries. Asbestos waste will not be accepted. Call 860-652-7772 for further assistance.

Free to residents
Up to 8 bag/box limit
