Glastonbury Cops Make Underage Online Solicitation Arrest

GLASTONBURY, CT — A 56-year-old man from eastern Connecticut is accused of trying to hook up online with an "underage girl" from Glastonbury and is now facing two felony charges related to computer solicitation, police said.

On Wednesday, Philip Therrien, 56, of Thompson, was located in Putnam, and arrested on a warrant charging him with criminal attempt to commit risk of injury to a minor and criminal attempt to commit enticing a minor by computer.

The charges were the result of an undercover investigation by the Glastonbury Police Department and the federal Department of Homeland Security, according to case records.

According to case records, Therrien had been "engaged in online communications with an individual he believed to be a 15-year-old-female."

He was arraigned in court on Thursday and was released on a $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court on June 21, according to judicial system records.
