Glastonbury Dealership Wants 2 Parcels For 'Overstock' Vehicle Storage
Glastonbury regulators are slated to meet next week to review a plan for a local auto dealership to store an expanded inventory.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Citing "current marketing trends in the automobile industry," a Glastonbury dealership want to expand its inventory and store it at a dual parcel nearby.
A special meting of the Glastonbury Plan and Zoning Commission is on tap for Aug. 20 to review the matter.
The request is from Monaco Ford for 267 and 273 Williams St. Monaco's main dealership complex is located at 767 New London Turnpike and the Williams Street parcels sit across the street, next to an Enterprise car rental establishment.

No. 267 Williams St. measures .53 acres and No. 273 measures .40 acres, according to the application.
The plan is to store no more than 74 "overstock" vehicles on the Williams Street parcels, according to the application.

The town's planning staff has endorsed the move, limited to storage only and not sales, over a two-year period. After two years, the dealership would need to re-apply, according to municipal correspondence.
The Aug. 20 special meeting of the Plan and Zoning Commission is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Glastonbury Town Hall.
