Glastonbury Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Facing Civil Suit
Dr. Tory J. Westbrook is facing a civil lawsuit claiming he sexually assaulted a woman who came to him for treatment of lower back pain.

The Glastonbury doctor facing multiple charges of sexually assaulting female patients at his Clinton office is also facing a civil lawsuit that was filed late last month, according to court documents.
The lawsuit was filed in civil court by a 30-year-old former female patient against Tory J. Westbrook and the Community Health Center in Clinton, where Westbrook worked as a practicing physician. The civil suit charges negligence on behalf of the center to adequately supervise Westbrook, and claims that the doctor sexually assaulted her.

The woman, identified in the suit as “Jane Doe” to protect her identity, claims in the lawsuit that she first went to the Clinton health center in Sept. 2010 for lower back pain. During an exam, the woman said that Westbrook “rubbed bother her breasts for two to three minutes,” despite the woman’s objections, the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit claims the woman suffered humiliation and extreme emotional distress, and is seeking both punitive and compensatory damages.
Westbrook is currently facing criminal charges in Middletown Superior Court regarding multiple allegations of sexual abuse, as well as one instance where a woman claims that Westbrook traded her Oxycodone prescriptions for sex. He is next due in court on Oct. 11.
