Glastonbury Girls 2nd, Boys 3rd in State Open

Both teams advance to the New England Cross Country Championships in Vermont on Nov. 14.

Glastonbury will be well-represented at the New England Cross Country Championships next weekend, as both the girls and boys teams will compete based on their outstanding showing in Friday’s State Open at Wickham Park in Manchester.

The Tomahawk girls placed three runners in the top 25 to finish second to three-time State Open champion Tolland, while the boys wound up third, trailing only Staples and Danbury.

The top six teams and first 25 individuals at the State Open qualify for the New Englands, to be run Saturday, Nov. 14 at Thetford Academy, just outside of White River Junction, VT.
