Glastonbury Municipal Employee Accused Of Theft From Facility

A Glastonbury man is accused of stealing money from a town facility while employed there, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Glastonbury man is accused of stealing money from a municipal facility while employed there, police said.

On Jan. 30, Matthew George, 27, of Glastonbury, surrendered at Glastonbury police headquarters on an active warrant. He was charged with three counts of sixth-degree larceny, according to an arrest report.

George is accused of stealing cash from the town for nearly six months in 2019 while he worked at the Glastonbury bulky waste facility on Tryon Street, police said.

George was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Feb. 19, police said.
