
Dorothy J. Gale, 88, died on March 22, 2016 at Hartford Hospital.
Born in Danforth, Maine, she moved to Connecticut in 1941. She was the daughter of Lawrence Jenkins and Leila Thompson Jenkins. She was a graduate of Windsor High School and Cambridge Secretarial School. Moving to Glastonbur in 1957 with her family, she was an active member of Buckingham Congregational Church for many years. She began attending the Presbyterian Church of Coventry in 1986, and has made that her church home ever since. She was a devoted mother and wife and will be sadly missed.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Martha & Armand Chenelle of Hebron; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca & Curtis Grimes of Manchester, NH; her grandchildren Leah, Elizabeth & Rebekah Chenelle of Hebron; Ruth (Grimes) Boulter and her husband Zach of Exeter, NH; Nathaniel Grimes and his wife Kiana of Chicago, Illinois; and Seth & Japheth Grimes of Manchester, NH. She also leaves her great granddaughter Juliana Boulter of Exeter,NH., and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Philip Gale, last month; her son, Philip Gale, in 1970; her parents, and one brother.

Funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Presbyterian Church of Coventry, 55 Trowbridge Rd, Coventry. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Coventry. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday.
