Glastonbury Offering Drug Take-Back Program

A "drive-through" system will be set up, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT - The town is making it easy to get rid of unused, expired prescription medication.

On Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Glastonbury Police Department, the Town of Glastonbury Health Department, Glastonbury Youth and Family Services, and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration will host another Prescription Drug Take Back event.

The event will take place at the Academy School, 2143 Main St.

Like previous events, a "drive-through" system will be set up.

The program is an opportunity for residents to rid their homes of "potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs," police said.

The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked, according to town officials.

It is part of National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
