Glastonbury Police Name Officer of the Year

GLASTONBURY, CT — Lt. Mark Catania has been selected as this year’s Police Officer of the Year in Glastonbury.
Lt. Catania has been with the Glastonbury Police Department since 1996.
He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a commander. He has previously served

in several roles and divisions, including as the Traffic Unit supervisor and in the Youth Unit.
Lt. Catania has progressed through the hierarchy of the agency, reaching the rank of Lieutenant in 2013.

He is known throughout the agency as a team player and will assist anyone who is in need, police said.
Police said he is also known throughout the Town of Glastonbury for his ability to communicate with people and also his dedication, loyalty and love for the community in which he
proudly serves.
On Feb. 1, Lt. Catania will be honored at a dinner hosted by the Exchange Club of Glastonbury.
The dinner will take place at the Gallery Restaurant, 141 New London
Turnpike, with a cash bar beginning at 6 p.m. and a prime rib/chicken/fish buffet at 7 p.m. The public is welcome. Tickets can be purchased for $25 at the Glastonbury Police
Department.
