Glastonbury Power Restoration Could Spill into Wednesday

Some Glastonbury homes were still without power on Tuesday.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Full power restoration from the weekend's wind and rain could spill into Wednesday for Glastonbury, town officials said.

And few seemed to be spared, including the town's phone system.

Town officials said they contacted Eversource Energy representatives on Tuesday morning and were advised that the day was a "major restoration day."

That means some repairs will be deferred until Wednesday, town official said.

Residents without water, Fire Company No. 3, located at 1089 Chestnut Hill Road, has a hose available for use. Residents need to charge a cell phone can do so at the Riverfront Community Center and Library, town officials said.

As a result of last weekend's storm, the town phone system experienced a power outage that subsequently affected the voicemail and routing system. town officials said.

While the problem is being fixed, residents attempting to reach town facilities may be re-directed to the main phone lines from time to time, rather than the intended extension.

"The Town has made adjustments to our internal call center operations to ensure all calls are still attended to. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we work through this power outage issue," town officials said in a statement.
