Glastonbury Residents: Hazardous Waste Collection Event Set for This Month

The town of Glastonbury announced a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection event for this month.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste at a collection event scheduled for Feb. 21.

The event will take place at the Town of Manchester Transfer Station, located at 321 Olcott St. The collection hours are set from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

This Household Hazardous Waste collection event is designed to provide a safe method for residents to discard various materials. These include stains, acids, insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, chemicals, and household cleaning products. These items may have accumulated in homes and require proper disposal methods.

Appointments are required for all residents wishing to participate in the collection event. To schedule an appointment, residents can contact CREOC directly. The phone numbers provided for making appointments are (860) 647-3257 or 647-5278.

Participants are asked to leave all materials in their original containers. This helps ensure that the contents are clearly identifiable for safe processing. The event aims to prevent improper disposal of hazardous substances into regular waste streams.

In addition to calling CREOC, residents can also make an appointment by scanning a QR code. If a particular collection date becomes fully booked, residents are advised to select an alternative date for their appointment. This system helps manage the flow of materials and attendees at the collection site.
