The History of Minuteman Press

You’ve seen the Minuteman Press locations in Hartford, Vernon, Manchester, and Glastonbury, but do you know the history behind the business?

We purchased the business in the summer of 2003 and expanded into Vernon a few years later when the owner of that location decided to retire.

The owner of Silk City Print Shoppe in Manchester decided to retire about three years ago, and asked us if we were interested in purchasing his location.

Finally, this past year the owners of Grames Printing also retired and started a new venture with their daughter in New York and asked us if we were interested in purchasing their shop as well. We purchased their shop, but brought it into our current location on Main Street in Manchester.

At that same time, the owner of a print shop in Glastonbury was also looking to retire. The location was excellent, filled a gap we had, and we closed on that business in April 2014.

So what makes Minuteman Press different from other printers?

We are a locally owned print shop that offers everything the big online shops do, with the service you want from a small business who knows our customers’ names.

We have complete, full service online design, ordering and purchasing that online printers have, yet we are a local company who is just a quick phone call away to answer any questions.

We also do not charge shipping because we deliver in person – for free.

Our tagline is “your first and last stop in printing,” and we truly are. From start to finish, design, print, mailings, promotional items – we do the entire job for our customers.
