High Holiday Activities at Congregation Kol Haverim

Kol Haverim in Glastonbury welcomes the high holy days with worship opportunities, outdoor experiences, music, meditation, and more.

The Jewish New Year (“Rosh Hashanah”) and Yom Kippur are a time of new beginnings. At Kol Haverim, we celebrate these high holy days with a range of traditional and alternative services, outdoor experiences, music and meditation, family activities, and spiritual study sessions.

Kol Haverim will observe Erev Rosh Hashanah beginning Sunday, Sept. 13, at 5 pm. We’ll have two services on Monday, Sept. 14: An alternative morning worship from 8:30 am to 10 am, and a main service beginning at 10:45 am. As always, we’ll observe taschlich at the Rocky Hill Ferry at 4pm.

Yom Kippur worship begin Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 7:30 pm for Kol Nidre, with alternative and main services on Wednesday, Sept. 23 (times as above).

Leading up to and throughout the high holy days, Kol Haverim offers a range of opportunities to open your mind and soul for new beginnings, with musical service, outdoor experiences, yoga, and more.

Kol Haverim offers a full curriculum of Jewish religious school studies from elementary school through senior year of high school. Kol Haverim is also home to the Shirley Reaback Early Childhood Center, a developmentally based, five-day-a-week Jewish preschool program held in partnership with the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center.
