KO Boys' Team Wins 43rd Kingswood Oxford Invitational Tennis Tournament
Glastonbury student played #1 doubles

Though it didn’t feel much like Spring outside, the Boys’ Varsity Tennis team opened its season on Mar. 28-29 by winning the Kingswood Invitational Tennis Tournament for the second time in the past three years. Hotchkiss was the runner-up.
The KITT is played in memory of KO tennis standout Tim Berman ’78, who went on to play for Swarthmore College but died of cancer while still a student there.
The Wyverns accumulated 29 points, powered by wins at #1 singles (Matt Lord ‘17, 6-3, 6-2), #2 singles (Jacob Appleton ‘16, 6-0, 6-4), #1 doubles (Jacob Appleton and Austin Briggs ‘16 of Glastonbury, 6-3, 6-3), and #2 doubles (Lord and William Appleton ‘18, 6-2, 6-2).

“This was a great weekend of competition, camaraderie, and a remarkable display of sportsmanship among the coaches and teams,” said Athletic Director Sue Cabot.
