Lightning Bug 5K Road Race Debuting in Marlborough on August 23

The brand new event will help support the Marlborough Food Bank

Though the Marlborough Day festival has been postponed to June 2020, the CT River Valley Chamber of Commerce will still be holding the Lightning Bug 5K Road Race, a brand new event, on August 23. The race was originally associated with Marlborough Day, but will be a standalone event in 2019.

Runners will take off Friday, August 23 for a 3.1 mi route in Marlborough, CT around Lake Terramuggus, beginning at 6:30 PM. The route has a total ascent of 137.08 ft and has a maximum elevation of 539.7 ft. Fun lightning bug inspired costumes are encouraged.

The Chamber will be collecting donations for the Marlborough Food Bank. Cash donations will be accepted.
