Man Held On High bonds After Bad Check Case Arrest in Glastonbury
An already-wanted man was caught trying to cash a stolen check in Glastonbury, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A 61-year-old New York City man is facing a pair of high bonds in connection with his day-after-Christmas arrest at a Glastonbury bank.
At 3:38 p.m. that day, Bronx resident William Evans was arrested for attempting to cash a stolen check at NBT Bank on Glastonbury.
He was charged with third-degree forgery, third-degree identity theft and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Evans failed to post a $50,000 bond at his arraignment the following day and is slated to be back in court on Jan. 29, records show.
He also failed to post a $350,000 bond on a charge of being a fugitive from justice, records show. While booked for the Glastonbury check incident, local authorities discovered he has a warrant out of New York State.
