Matthew Guanci joins human relations organization that promotes inclusion and acceptance by providing education and advocacy

Robinson+Cole lawyer Matthew J. Guanci, Jr., has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Conference for Community and Justice’s (NCCJ) Connecticut/Western Massachusetts chapter.

The NCCJ is a human relations organization that promotes inclusion and acceptance by providing education and advocacy while building communities that are respectful and just for all. Through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education, it advocates understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures. As the first NCCJ region established in the country, the Connecticut/Western Massachusetts chapter has a strong 80-year history. For more information, visit https://nccj.org.

NCCJ hosts a number of programs, focusing on topics such as prejudice reduction, community building, and leadership for high school-age youth; self-esteem building for middle and high school students; a youth action coalition run by and for youth around social justice issues; training elementary school teachers to use a curriculum consisting of videos and activities to address the challenging issues of bias and differences; interfaith programs designed to promote understanding and respect among all religions and philosophical beliefs; and workplace training for corporations, organizations, and educational institutions doing business in today’s multicultural world that looks at the systems of oppression and privilege, enhances communications skills, builds cultural competences, and creates more inclusive work environments.

Mr. Guanci is a partner in Robinson+Cole’s Business Section, where he practices corporate and securities law in the firm’s Hartford and Boston offices, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and venture capital and other financing and investment transactions.
