Naked Burglar Caught In Overflowing Bathtub In Glastonbury Mansion: PD

A man who helped himself to a local tub is now facing burglary charges, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A resident of a mansion near Diamond Lake in Glastonbury found a naked stranger in one of the home's bathtubs, according to a police report.

He is now facing burglary charges, police said. Glastonbury police released details of the Sept. 28 incident this week.

The 26-year-old man from Glastonbury apparently sneaked into the home at 1:45 p.m. while at least one of the residents was outside doing yard work, according to an arrest report.

When the resident came back into the home, water was heard running in a bathroom, according to an arrest report.

The homeowner went to investigate and that's when the resident found the man standing naked in an overflowing tub, according to an arrest report.

The bather also tried to walk out of the home with a package, police said. He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree burglary, attempted sixth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief.

He posted a $20,000 bond and is due in Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 26.
