Founded in 2006, the Connecticut Brain Tumor Alliance (“CTBTA”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has raised close to $2 million for Patient Assistance Funds for families in financial need, Brain Tumor research, patient outreach, specialized medical equipment, and Brain Tumor program support. Recently, the CTBTA has supported cutting edge research programs that will directly benefit Connecticut patients at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Yale, UCONN and St. Vincent’s Hospital.
“The Path Of Hope” will not only honor the memory of those in our community that we have lost to Brain Tumors, but also celebrate survivors and bring caregivers and families together to stand united against this disease,” said Tracey Gamer-Fanning, CTBTA Founding Board Member. “CTBTA is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on Brain Tumors, supporting cutting-edge research, and providing compassion and support to those living with Brain Tumors and their families, friends, and caretakers. We are here to provide invaluable hope to Brain Tumor patients like me around the state.”
The event will have an honorary chairperson, Stephanie Simoni, News 8 Reporter, for WTNH-TV and inspiration from Brain Tumor survivors.
Teams can register online for $25.00 a person at https://ctbtapathofhope.org. Survivors participate for free, and there are special rates for children. All participants receive a t-shirt with registration. The walk will occur on the wheelchair accessible paved path at Olde Mistick Village, located at 27 Coogan Blvd Mystic, CT 06355
