GLASTONBURY, CT — Three runners were hit by a vehicle near Glastonbury High School Monday afternoon, police said.

At 2:30 p.m., Glastonbury police, a Glastonbury Fire Department crew and units from the Ambulance Service of Manchester and Aetna Ambulance responded to the area of Hubbard and Maple streets for a car versus pedestrian crash.

Three people, described by police as "adolescents," were transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to an incident report.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, according to an incident report.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle was traveling west on Hubbard Street when it struck three runners in the roadway. The area is near Glastonbury high school.

The case is being investigated by the Glastonbury Police Department Traffic Unit and officers are asking that witnesses, or anyone with information about the crash, to call police at 860-633-8301.
