Schedule Released for Glastonbury Roundabout Construction
The roundabout will create new traffic flow on New London Turnpike and Hebron Avenue.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Town officials have targeted early spring for construction to start on the Hebron Avenue/New London Turnpike roundabout.
Here is description of the construction phasing:
- Stage 1: Construction will primarily consist of temporary road widening on all intersection approaches, (eastbound and westbound on Hebron Avenue and northbound and southbound on New London Turnpike), to allow for subsequent phase traffic flow. The existing traffic signal will continue to operate during this phase.
- Stage 2: The existing traffic signal equipment will be removed and standard roundabout flow will be established using reflective traffic drums with barricade warning lights and delineators to guide motorists through the intersection.
- Stages 3 to 6: Each intersection approach will be closed consecutively to allow construction within that confined area. Only one approach will be closed at a time and appropriate detours will be signed accordingly. Please note that all business driveway access will be maintained at all times and that businesses will remain open.
- Stage 7: Construction of the roundabout center island will occur. Town officials will provide regular updates from the point of initial construction and throughout each phase to keep the community informed and to minimize impact.
