Seat Belt Stop In Glastonbury Turns Into Fugitive Arrest

GLASTONBURY, CT — What began as a seat belt violation ticket wound up being a fugitive arrest for Glastonbury police.

According to an arrest report released this week, the incident took place at 11:46 a.m. on June 1 near the Hebron Avenue-Route 2 interchange.

A 40-year-old woman from Willimantic was charged with the seat belt violation and driving without a license after the stop, according to an arrest report. Police also discovered the woman had an active felony arrest warrant with the New Jersey State Police.

She was then taken into custody as a fugitive from justice and held on a $150,000 surety bond, according to an arrest report.
