Sept 14: Micro-chipping Clinic for Equines
CDHR and EARS are partnering to host an equine microchip clinic. Pre-registration is required by 9/11.

The Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue is partnering with Connecticut Emergency Animal Response Service to present this micro-chipping clinic on Sunday, September 14th from 10am-3pm.
Permanent identification is critical to recovering your horse after theft, loss, or natural disasters. Many auctions and slaughter pens are now scanning horses for micro-chips, and your horse could be intercepted before shipping to slaughter.
Your horse will be micro-chipped with a simple injection and the Rescue will process your registration with the Equine Protection Registry (EPR). You will have a life-time registration with EPR, which will provide emergency contact information, and even list medications your horse may be on, which makes it ineligible for slaughter and human consumption.
