A Talk about the Buddhist Perspective on War

There will be a special talk about the Buddhist perspective on war and conflict. This talk will take place during the Buddhist Faith Fellowship’ s regular Sunday morning gathering from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, on November 16, 2014. The gathering includes meditation and chanting. The Fellowship is located at 343 Washington, Terrace, Middletown, CT.

For Buddhists, war is unskillful and to be avoided. This talk and subsequent Q & A will explore the Buddhist teaching on war. In the age of Al-Qaeda and ISIS, what is the proper approach that Buddhists take to warfare? Is war always wrong and unskillful? Is there such a thing as a just cause to war? Can a Buddhist become a soldier? Presented by Dharma Teacher Daikan. There is a sliding scale suggested donation $10 – $25. For those new to meditation. there will be a short Introduction to Meditation Training session will be held before the gathering at 9:45 a.m. Visit the Buddhist Faith Fellowship for details at
