Ten Penny Ale Shamrock Duathlon & 5k at GHS Sunday
The Duathlon is recognized as the 2013 New England Regional Duathlon Championshiop, and is a qualifier for the national race.
Glastonbury-based Hartford Marathon Foundation is hosting the 16th annual Ten Penny Ale Shamrock Duathlon & 5k at Glastonbury High School this Sunday.
The event consists of two 5k runs and a 28k bicycle race through Glastonbury, beginning at Glastonbury High School and ending at the Hubbard Green. For the first time, this year the Duathlon is being nationally recognized by USA Triathlon's Duathlon Race Series as the 2013 New England Regional Duathlon Championship race.
The Duathon is the New England qualifier for the 2013 National Duathlon series.
The Shamrock Duathlon has partnered with East Hartford's Olde Burnside Brewing Company, brewer of Ten Penny Ale. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Children's Law Center in Hartford, which provides legal services and advocates for poor children in family court.
The race starts Sunday at 7:30 a.m. at Glastonbury High School.
