Welles-Turner Memorial Library Reopening On August 3 With Limited Hours And Services

The Welles-Turner Memorial Library (WTML) plans to reopen to the public on Monday, August 3, 2020 with limited hours and services.

Reduced Library hours:
- Mondays & Fridays: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Tuesdays & Thursdays: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Wednesdays: 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
All users must adhere to current CDC guidelines that include: (1) wearing a face mask that covers the nose and mouth; (2) maintaining a social distance of at least six feet.

Key Service Changes:
- Services will be limited to borrowing and picking up holds.
- Please return materials in the book drop only. Library materials will be quarantined for 3 days prior to coming off the patron’s record.
- To maintain a safe capacity in the Children’s Department, access to the collection will be by appointment only. Please call the Children’s Department at (860) 652-7718 to schedule an appointment.
- There will be a limited number of public computers available by appointment only. Time will be limited to 1 hour per day per user. Call the Reference department at (860) 652-7720 to schedule an appointment.
- Due to social distance requirements, staff will NOT be available for one-on-one assistance, therefore please bring a computer-savvy friend or relative if needed.
- Copy, fax, print, and scan services will be available but exact change is required.
Services that will not be available at this time include access to magazine & newspaper collections and access to study/meeting rooms. There will also be limited seating in the Library.
The Library plans to expand upon the operating hours and services as it becomes safe to do so.
