Join the East Granby Land Trust on Saturday, August 17th, for a night under the stars with Central Connecticut State University Astronomy Professor Kristine Larsen, PhD. At 7:00 pm naturalist and EGLT President John Erbland will lead a short child-friendly walk through the meadow, exploring the marsh and meadow habitats at East Granby Farms. After the hike we will enjoy s’mores provided by EGLT. At 9:00pm Dr. Larsen will talk about the stars, our solar system, and her journey to Australia last year to see the solar eclipse. Professor Larsen will bring her telescope for closer viewing of the constellations and encourages others to bring their telescopes and binoculars. Please bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax on while you enjoy the night sky. This event may be better suited for adults or children over the age of 10. For more information contact Amanda Thompson at 860-413-3931 or amandacthompson@msn.com or visit our website at www.eglt.org.
