GRANBY, CT — Granby residents will have several ways to mark Independence Day in 2026, including local America 250 events and fireworks displays across the region.
The Fourth of July falls on a Saturday this year, creating a long July 3-5 holiday weekend. Patch has compiled a guide to fireworks, parades and other July 4 events around Granby, including celebrations in Hartford and Tolland counties.
In Granby and East Granby, the local America 250 celebration includes live music by The Decker Bandits and a bonfire on Friday, July 3, followed by a Fourth of July parade and activities at Salmon Brook Park on Saturday, July 4.

The 2026 Independence Day season is part of a nationwide commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the country’s 250th anniversary.
America’s Block Party is one of the national initiatives tied to America 250, the congressionally chartered nonprofit overseeing the semiquincentennial celebration.
A Times Square Ball Drop is planned as part of the “Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show,” with a rolling series of ball drops timed to midnight on July 3 in every U.S. time zone.
A time capsule will be buried in Philadelphia and opened in 2276. Organizers said it will include contributions connected to the federal government, states, Washington D.C. and U.S. territories.
Other national events include the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, the July 4 Salute to America Fireworks, “Sail 4th 250” in New York Harbor and Rushmore 250.
