This year, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is forecasting the influenza season to be the worst in 10 years. Although this year's flu shot is providing protection against the flu strains being seen, the flu is being reported in Connecticut and widespread throughout most of the Southern states, the Mid-West, and in New York. 7 pediatric deaths have been reported, with the most recent in Maine of a healthy school-age child.
