The Granby Artists Association will host its forth Family Fun Day on May 11, 2013 (from 10:00am to 3:00pm). This is an opportunity for family members – young and old – to try their hands at a variety of art forms, receiving guidance from artists of the Granby Artists Association. During this time, 12+ artists will demonstrate their talent and techniques and guide participants to work with paper sculptures, jewelry making, watercolor and acrylics, oil painting, photography, caricatures, wood crafting, paper printing, and children’s' art expressions. Last year, 250+ children, teens, parents and grandparents alike all jumped into the activities and left with their own treasures they created from the day; they rotated from art station to art station, returning to their favorites throughout the time. It was clear that family members were in no hurry to leave and one youngster in particular expressed to his mom that he “never wants to leave”. The Granby Artists Association sponsors this event to promote arts in the community. It is their hope that a taste of working in various art forms will plant seeds for a lifetime of loving art! Come join the fun!
The event is FREE to the public and will be held rain or shine at Holcomb Farm, 113 Simsbury Road, West Granby, CT. Visit www.granbyartists.org for more information.
