OVER THE EDGE FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS CONNECTICUT COMING TO HARTFORD

Over the Edge to support Special Olympics Connecticut is coming to Hartford on Friday, May 10, 2013. This event will give brave souls with big hearts the chance to rappel down one of Hartford’s tallest buildings – State House Square – for the thrill of it and to support Special Olympics athletes. Special Olympics is seeking participants to rappel. To register and find out more, go to www.soct.org and click on the Over the Edge logo, call 203-230-1201 ext. 270 or email sarahb@soct.org. Spectators are also invited to come out to the event.

Over the Edge - Hartford will kick-off at 9 a.m. and run throughout the day. Preregistration is required, and will give participants the opportunity to create a personal fundraising page so that their friends, family members and colleagues can sponsor them easily and securely. All who wish to rappel must raise a minimum of $1,000. No experience is necessary – and an introductory class will be provided on the day of the event. It’s safe, exciting and for a good cause. Participants will receive a t-shirt and photo of themselves in action.

Throughout the year, Special Olympics athletes demonstrate courage on the playing field as they train and compete in sports, strive to achieve personal goals and realize their potential. For one day in Hartford, individuals will, themselves, demonstrate courage and go to new heights to support these athletes by participating in Over the Edge.

Event sponsors include AMP Radio Network, Clear Channel Community Access Radio, Comcast and NBC Connecticut.
